ABOUT US:
Franklin County Humane Society shelters, feeds, provides preventive medications and sometime treats homeless pets in Franklin County and offers them for adoption. All pets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Over 400 litters of baby kittens and puppies -- 1700 kittens and puppies are taken in each year! That is as many as 15 litters each week during peak periods! Spaying or neutering pets is the only way to stop the overpopulation problem that exists with cats and dogs both here in Franklin County and across the country.  While FCHS has an exceptionally high placement rate and refuses no animals due to inability to make a donation, there are not enough homes for all the animals being born each year. We urge all owners to talk to a veterinarian today about the health benefits of spaying or neutering, or low cost spay/neuter coupon options available through our shelter’s options. FCHS will also microchip your owned pets for $28.50, about half the regular cost.

FCHS is an independent, privately run 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter serving animals and people in Franklin County and 14 surrounding counties. Franklin County Humane Society is funded ONLY by fees, private donations, grants and fundraisers.  Like many privately run shelters, the shelter receives NO municipal tax support or direct funding from national organizations like HSUS, ASPCA or United Way. We very much need your support!
