 “Alternative Gifts”

Have you been looking for that perfect gift for an animal lover?   A variety of “Alternative Gifts” are available for purchase, which benefit the animals at the shelter. These cards can make a meaningful gift for that “someone” who has everything.   Choose from gifts ranging from $20 up to several hundred dollars.  You will receive a note card with envelope to send as your gift, letting the receiver know a meaningful gift has been made in their honor, along with an insert sheet describing the particular cause you have chosen (below).  This is a wonderful opportunity for birthday and holiday gift giving!

The Gift cards include:

$20   Help with the daily care of a puppy or kitten, dog or cat.

$35   Fund the health care costs of a dog or cat. This gift will fund the cost of healthcare including vaccinations, worming, canine heartworm test or feline leukemia test, external parasite treatment.

$40   Fund one spay or neuter for a dog or cat. This gift will fund the cost of one spay or neuter for a dog or cat to help reduce pet overpopulation and reduce the need to euthanize unwanted pets.

$60   Care for an abandoned dog.  This gift will help care for an abandoned adult dog until he or she is adopted.  Someone will have a lifelong friend as a result of this gift.

$60   Care for a homeless cat. This gift will help care for a loving cat until adoption.   A homeless cat will now be off the street, in a caring home, and won’t produce two litters of offspring per year to add to pet overpopulation.

$90   Supplement the cost of one dog or cat’s adoption.   This gift will help to place a dog or cat in a home with a loving family of limited income and spay/neuter the pet.

$125   Fund the rehabilitation of one abused dog or cat.  This gift will help fund the rehabilitation of one abused or neglected dog or cat, including covering costs of prescriptions, medical care and special foods to restore health, and providing loving care to restore his trust in people.

$250   Support our Cinderella Fund.  This gift will help replenish our Cinderella Emergency Fund to care for seriously ill or injured adoptable dogs and cats.

$500   Pay for one week of health care at the shelter.  This gift will cover the cost of the shelter’s vaccinations, wormer, antibiotics, heartworm, and feline leukemia tests and parasite treatment for a week.

$750   Fund the cost of operating the shelter for one day.  Help fund operating the shelter 7 days a week, providing nourishment, warmth, medical care, lost and found services, placement programs, and sterilization surgeries.
